Michael Wagner (politician)

Michael Wagner (born May 30, 1960 in Speyer ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate since May 2, 2019 .

Life

After graduating from high school and completing his military service, Michael Wagner studied tax law from 1981 to 1984 at the University of Applied Sciences in Edenkoben to obtain a degree in finance . Subsequently, he worked in various functions as a tax officer, most recently as head of department in the tax offices in Ludwigshafen (2001–2005) and Speyer-Germersheim (2005–2019).

Wagner is married and has two children.

Wagner has been a CDU member since 1988. From 2000 he was treasurer, in 2007 he became chairman of the CDU district association Speyer.

Wagner has been a member of the Speyer city council since 2005.

Michael Wagner became a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament for constituency 38 (Speyer and the municipalities Römerberg-Dudenhofen and Schifferstadt) on May 2, 2019 . He replaced the late MP Reinhard Oelbermann in the state parliament.

Social Commitment

Wagner is chairman of the non-profit association “Palatina Klassik e. V. ", which promotes classical music in the Palatinate, the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and the Saar-Lor-Lux region.
