Michael Wark

Michael Wark (* 1963 in Bremen ) is a German chemist and professor of technical chemistry at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg .

Life

Michael Wark began studying chemistry at the University of Bremen in 1983 and graduated in 1989 with a degree in chemistry. In the same year he began his academic career as a research assistant at the University of Bremen, where he wrote his doctoral thesis. Until the beginning of 2002 he worked as a research assistant at various universities in Germany and France. From 2002–2010 he worked as an academic senior counselor at the Institute for Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry at Leibniz Universität Hannover . During this time he completed his habilitation there, was appointed private lecturer and finally an associate professor. In 2011 he went to the Ruhr University Bochum for a university professorship . In 2013 he accepted a professorship for technical chemistry at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg.

Research areas

Wark is generally concerned with the sustainable use of resources. These include, among other things, research focuses such as photo catalysis , materials for modern energy technology and the chemistry of renewable raw materials .

Publications and patents

Michael Wark has written over 170 publications in specialist journals and book chapters and is co-owner of several patents.
