Michaela Sburny (born May 17, 1959 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician for the Greens .

Life

After graduating from the Wirtschaftskundliches Realgymnasium Vienna in 1977, Michaela Sburny attended the Pedagogical Academy Vienna from 1983 to 1986 . From 1990 to 1992 she then took part in a university course in political education at the University of Educational Sciences in Klagenfurt. From 1994 to 1996 she attended the organizational development course at the inter-university institute for interdisciplinary research and training at the University of Klagenfurt .

Sburny worked as a teacher until 1991 and has since been active in various positions within the Green Party. From 1998 to 2001 and from 2004 to 2009 she was federal manager of the Greens. She was succeeded by Stefan Wallner in this role.

Michaela Sburny had been a member of the National Council since December 20, 2002 , and was economic spokeswoman for the Greens until autumn 2006. After the National Council election in October 2006 , she became chair of the parliamentary committee for research, technology and innovation. For the early National Council election in 2008, Sburny was no longer given a place on the electoral list by her party; she resigned from the National Council in autumn 2008.

Today she lives in Langenlois in Lower Austria and has two daughters (born in 1976 and 1978).
