Mikhail Petrow Arnaudow ( Bulgarian Михаил Петров Арнаудов ; born October 18, 1878 in Rustschuk , † February 18, 1978 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian literary historian , ethnographer and folklorist .

Life

He first studied in Sofia and then specialized from 1898 to 1900 in Leipzig and Berlin with August Leskien and Wilhelm Wundt, among others . From 1914 to 1944 he worked as a professor in Sofia. Arnaudow was a member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR .

Arnaudow was positive . In his scientific work he dealt with Bulgarian literature, Bulgarian folklore and Bulgarian rebirth . He also wrote works on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe , François de La Rochefoucauld , Petőfi and Alexander Pushkin .
