The road branches off from Drum național 13 ( European route 60 ) in Feldioara and runs in an easterly direction via Sfântu Gheorghe , where it crosses Drum național 12 , and Reci , where Drum național 11 ( European route 574 ) crosses , to Covasna . Here it turns sharply to the south-southwest and runs via Zagon and Barcani to Întorsura Buzăului , where it meets and ends at Drum național 10 . The section between Zagon and Barcani is not paved throughout.
The length of the road is around 87 kilometers.
