The road begins at the Danube ferry , which leads from Svishtov in Bulgaria to the Danube port of Zimnicea , and leads via Zimnicea, where it meets the Drum național 5C and the Drum național 51A , to Smârdioasa , and from there follows the Vedea to the District capital Alexandria , where it ends at Drum național 6 ( European route 70 ).
