The Drum național DN 68 ( Romanian for “National Road 68”, DN68 for short ) is a national road in Romania . In its western part it follows the river Bistra , a tributary of the Temesch .

The road branches off in Caransebeş from Drum național 6 ( European route 70 ) and leads up the Bistra via Oțelu Roşu (Ferdinandsberg) and the 699 m high pass Poarta de Fier a Transilvaniei and Sarmizegetusa with the archaeological site Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa to Hațeg , where it meets and ends at Drum național 66 ( Europastraße 79 ).
The length of the road is around 70 kilometers.
