The Drum naţional 23 ( Romanian for "National Road 23," short DN23 ) is a main road in Romania .

The road begins in Brăila , where it branches off from Drum național 22 (here also European route 87 ). It crosses the Drum național 2B (also European route 584 ) on the western outskirts of Brăila and runs north-west via Măxineni to Măicăneşti , where the Drum național 23B initially goes west. It continues north via Năneşti , where the short Drum național 25A branches off to Drum național 25 , turns to the northwest, takes on the Drum național 23A shortly before Focşani and ends in the district capital Focşani at Drum național 2 ( European route 85 ).
