The Drum național 56A ( Romanian for "National Road 56A", DN56A for short ) is a main road in Romania .

The road in Little Wallachia (Oltenia) begins at Drum național 56 ( European route 79 ) east of Calafat in Maglavit , from which it initially leads north via Cetate to Vânători . Shortly after the border of the Gorj and Mehedinți districts , the Drum național 56C branches off to the west at Salcia , which also leads to the north, closer to the Danube . The DN56A leads via the small town of Vânju Mare to Hinova , where it picks up the Drum național 56B . The road now follows the left bank of the Danube and ends in Șimian just east of Drobeta-Turnu Severin at Drum național 6 ( Europastraße 70 ).
The length of the road is around 79 kilometers.
