The road, which also forms part of the European route 79 , begins at the toll bridge over the Danube 2 , which connects Vidin in Bulgaria with Calafat , takes on the Drum național 55A there and runs in an east-northeast direction through Little Wallachia (Oltenia) via Maglavit , where the Drum național 56A goes north, Perișor and Podari , crosses the Jiu (Schil), takes the Drum național 55 and flows into the Drum național 6 in Craiova ( European route 70 ).
