The Autostrada A4 ( Romanian for 'A4 motorway') is a motorway in Romania that is largely under construction and planning. Their total length in the finished state should be around 60 km. It begins in Ovidiu and leads via Constanța to the Bulgarian border at Vama Veche . The A4, which will be accessible to four lanes along its entire length, is intended to relieve traffic in the city of Constanța. The half-ring around Constanța, which will be 23 km long, should not be passable until 2011 at the earliest.

On July 29, 2011, the 7 km long section between the junction DN39 / Lazu and the motorway junction with the Autostrada A2 was opened to traffic. On July 19, 2012, the 10 km long section between the Ovidiu junction and Constanța West was opened.

Once completed, the motorway will be part of Branch B of the Pan-European Transport Corridor IV, which will be extended to the Bulgarian city ​​of Varna .
