The road branches off at the northwest end of the Lacul Izvorul Muntelui reservoir from Drum na Stional 15 to the northeast and leads over the pass of Petru Vodă ( 900 m ) to the town of Târgu Neamț , where it crosses Drum național 15C , and continues to Cristești , where it meets drum național 2 ( Europastraße 85 ) and ends there.
