The road branches off south of Steierdorf from the Drum național 57B and runs in a northerly direction via Anina to the district capital Reșița , where the Drum național 58B branches off to the northwest. There she turns to the northeast. In the village of Soceni , Drum național 58A branches off to the north. The DN58 continues eastward to Caransebeş and ends there at Drum național 6 ( European route 70 ).
