At the time of the Kingdom of Hungary Dobarlau belonged to the chair district Orbai in the County Háromszék ( Romanian Comitatul Trei-Scaune ). Subsequently, Micfalău belonged to the historical Trei-Scaune (German three chairs ) and from 1950 to today's Covasna district.
Among the projects from 2016 to 2020 of the municipality of Barcani it was also planned that the sewage network in the community center and the drinking water network in the incorporated village of Lădăuți ( Ladóc in Hungarian ) should be completed.
The town twinning with the French municipality of Monceaux was interrupted after a few years, so that Barcani no longer has any partnerships.
