Mikhail Yevgeniwitsch Kuklin ( Russian Михаил Куклин ; born November 2, 1987 ) is a Belarusian , formerly Russian cross-country skier who competed for Russia until 2015 and has started for Belarus since 2015 .

Career

Kuklin achieved his first top 10 placement in the Eastern Europe Cup in November 2010 with fourth place in the sprint in Vershina Tjoi and made his debut in the cross-country skiing world cup in Rybinsk in February 2011 , which he finished in 19th place and thus scored World Cup points. In his other appearances in the World Cup, which were all sprint competitions, he reached 45th place in Moscow in February 2012, 21st place in Sochi in February 2013 and in Dobbiaco in February 2014 and 23rd place in January 2015 in Rybinsk. In the Eastern Europe Cup in December 2013 in Krasnogorsk he achieved a podium finish with third place in the sprint; He succeeded again in the sprints in Vershina Tjoi and Krasnogorsk in November and December 2014, respectively. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season he won the Slavic Cup in Štrbské Pleso over 10 km freestyle. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 2017 , he finished 34th in the sprint and 15th together with Michail Sjamjonau in the team sprint.
