Mikhail Maximovich Mordvinov

Mikhail Maximovich Mordvinov ( Russian Михаил Максимович Мордвинов ; English transcription Mikhail Maximovich Mordvinov ; * 1977 in Moscow ) is a Russian pianist. He gives concerts worldwide as a soloist, chamber musician and song pianist. Michail Mordwinow currently lives in Berlin.

life and work

Mordvinov began to learn the piano at the age of six. From the age of seven he received piano lessons from Tatjana Zelikman at the Gnessin Music School in Moscow. In 1994 he began studying music at the Russian Gnessin Academy with Vladimir Tropp . He then completed postgraduate studies with Bernd Goetzke at the Hanover University of Music and Drama.

In 1994 Mordvinov received a Scriabin scholarship from the Moscow Scriabin Museum and was subsequently a regular participant in the Scriabin Music Festival there. In the 1997/98 season Mordwinow was also a Heinrich Neuhaus scholarship holder of the New Charitable Fund of Scholarships by M. Rostropovich . He has also received several state Russian Presidential Scholarships and a DAAD scholarship.

Mordvinov won the first prize of the XII in 1996 . International Robert Schumann Competition in Zwickau, 1997 First Prize and Special Prize of VI. International Schubert Competition in Dortmund , and in 2006 the first prize and the special prize of the XII. International competition in Andorra .

The pianist's repertoire includes works from the baroque to pieces of music from the 20th century. He has premiered and recorded several works by Berlin-based artist Chris Newman . Mordwinow is intensely committed to chamber music in his work. He has been a member of the Arteunita ensemble from Valencia since 2013 and of the Berlin Weinberg Trio s since 2014 .

Mordvinov is also involved as a piano teacher. From 2004 to 2010 he taught at the Russian Gnessin Academy for Music , currently he teaches at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music and at the International Rubinstein Academy , both in Berlin. In addition, he is often involved in master classes.

The music criticism assumes Mordvinov in his play "a differentiated touch culture and deeply felt expression", "great sense of sound coupled with technical accuracy" and generally "great virtuoso ability".
