Michal Sklenář (born June 16, 1988 ) is a former Czech grass skier . He was a member of the B-squad of the Czech grass ski team, took part in the 2007 World Cup , four Junior World Championships and four World Cup races in 2007 and 2008.

Career

Sklenář participated in FIS races from June 2004 . In the first year his best result was the 21st place in the giant slalom by Maria Gugging . In the 2005 season, a 21st place, this time in the Branná slalom , was his best result in FIS races. In July 2005 the Czech took part in a junior world championship for the first time . His best result was 19th place in the combination. The next year at the Junior World Championships in 2006, 15th place in the combination was his best result. In FIS races he was in the top 30 five times in the 2006 season.

At the Junior World Championships 2007 in Welschnofen , Michal Sklenář finished in the top 15 in all competitions: He was ninth in the super combination, eleventh in the slalom, 11th in the giant slalom and 14th in the super-G. A week later he started in the giant slalom in Čenkovice for the first time in a world cup race . With 34th place in the first round, however, he could not qualify for the final run. Shortly afterwards, he reached twelfth place in the FIS slalom at the same location. In September the Czech took part in the 2007 World Cup in Olešnice v Orlických horách . But he only achieved placements in the back field.

In June 2008, Sklenář came seventh in the slalom of Urnäsch for the first time in an FIS race among the top ten. A week later he got his first World Cup points in the World Cup Super Combined by Rettenbach with 16th place. In July he reached 19th place in giant slalom and 14th place in slalom at the World Cup races in Čenkovice, with which he came 32nd in the overall World Cup in the 2008 season, tied with Iranian Hossein Kalhor (1982) . At the Junior World Championship in 2008 , the Czech was among the fastest 20 in all competitions. His best result was eleventh place in the slalom. He contested his last grass ski race in September 2008.
