Mícheál Cranitch

Mícheál C. Cranitch (born December 1, 1912 in Rathcormac , County Cork , † November 23, 1999 ) was an Irish politician of the Fianna Fáil .

biography

Cranitch was originally a teacher . In 1969 he was nominated by Prime Minister ( Taoiseach ) Jack Lynch as a member of the Senate ( Seanad Éireann ) and was a member until his defeat in the Senate elections in 1973. During this time, he was last briefly from January 3 to June 1, 1973 Cathaoirleach and thus Senate President.

In October 1977 he was re-elected as a member of the Senate and until December 1982 represented the interest group of public administration and social institutions, the so-called Administrative Panel . After his defeat in the Senate elections in early 1983, he resigned from the Senate and retired from politics.
