Michel Albert
Michel Albert (born February 25, 1930 in Fontenay-le-Comte , France , † March 20, 2015 in Paris ) was a French economist .
Life
From 1978 to 1981 Albert was the head of the Commissariat général du Plan , the agency for economic policy planning that reports directly to the French Prime Minister. From 1982 to 1994 he was president of the French insurance company Assurances Générales de France , a later subsidiary of Allianz . From 1994 to 2003 he was a member of the Monetary Policy Council of the French National Bank . In the scientific field, he was a permanent member and secretary for life of the Académie des sciences morales et politiques ("Academy of Moral and Political Sciences") of the Institut de France . He was part of the Pontifical Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice (CAPP) foundation .
Michel Albert had also been active in the political and economic policy fields since the 1960s. His best-known work is Capitalism versus Capitalism , in which he coined the term “ Rhenish Capitalism ”.
