Michel Abou Soro (* the thirtieth October 1987 in Abidjan , Ivory Coast ) is a French professional boxer in the light middleweight .

Career

After leaving the French amateur championships in 2008, Michel Soro switched to professional life. After winning 18 fights in France, he boxed on May 12, 2012 in Ukraine for the world title of the WBO and IBO in the light middleweight division. Although he scored against the title holder Saurbek Baissangurow a precipitation in the second round, but lost the fight after the full twelve rounds on points.

After five consecutive victories, he boxed for the first time in the USA and scored a draw against the undefeated Antonie Douglas . In May 2015 he boxed again in the USA, beating Glen Tapia by TKo in the fourth round. In the fight for the European Middleweight Championship, he defeated Emanuele Blandamura in June 2015 by knockout in the eighth round.

In July 2016, he beat Hector Saldivia early in the third round and thereby won an international WBA title. He defended this against Nuhu Lawal ahead of time in December 2016. He achieved another early title defense in April 2017 against Javier Maciel.

On July 1, 2017, he lost in the fight for the interim WBA world championship in light middleweight just on points against Brian Castaño . In November 2019 he defeated his compatriot Cédric Vitu .
