Emanuele Nicola Blandamura (born December 19, 1979 in Udine ) is an Italian professional boxer and former EU and European middleweight champion.

Career

Emanuele Blandamura grew up in Rome and started boxing at the age of 18. He played 44 amateur fights, including 33 wins and 3 draws. His greatest achievement was second place in the middleweight division at the 2006 Italian Championships in Milan . He was eliminated in the final against Ciro Di Corcia .

In 2007 he switched to the professional field and made his debut on April 29 of the same year in Piacenza . Its promoter is OPI 2000 . After 14 more victories, he won on October 7, 2011 unanimously on points against the unbeaten Manuel Ernesti (10-0) and thus received the WBC Mediterranean championship title in the middleweight division. In his next fight on June 16, 2012, he won against the also unbeaten Luca Tassi (15-0) by tKo in the tenth round and then received the international silver title of the WBC.

After four more victories he received on January 25, 2014 in Stuttgart a title shot at the European championship of the EBU middleweight and defeated while the undefeated and favored titlist Marcos Nader just (18-0) on points. On July 26, 2014 he boxed in Manchester against Billy Saunders (19-0) for the EBU European Championship, but was knocked out in the eighth round.

He lost another EBU EM fight on June 20, 2015 by knockout against Frenchman Michel Soro (26-1). On December 3, 2016, he was able to secure the vacant European middleweight title by winning points against his compatriot Matteo Signani (23-4). He won his first title defense on June 17, 2017 against Alessandro Goddi (30-1).

On April 15, 2018, he boxed against Ryōta Murata for the WBA World Championship and lost to TKO in the eighth round.
