Michele Maccanti

Michele Maccanti (born December 12, 1979 in Ferrara ) is a former Italian road cyclist.

Michele Maccanti drove in 2002 for the Italian cycling team Saeco-Longoni Sport as a stagiaire , but received no professional contract for the following season. In 2004 he won the one-day race Coppa San Geo and a stage in the Baby Giro . The following year Maccanti became professional with the Italian team LPR. In his first year there he was successful at the Giro del Mendrisiotto .

In May 2010 he was banned for doping . Nevertheless, he took part in the Maratona dles Dolomites and won ahead of Dainius Kairelis . The victory was later withdrawn from him.
