Michele Polverino (born September 26, 1984 in Grabs , Switzerland ) is a Liechtenstein football player .
Career
Michele Polverino learned to play football at FC Vaduz , where he made his first appearance in the Challenge League . He made his breakthrough in the 2003/04 season when he scored 7 goals in 25 games. For the 2005/06 season he was under contract with Olbia Calcio 1905 in Italy and returned to Vaduz in 2006. He once again became an important player on the team and received many appearances. In July 2009 he went to FC Aarau . There, too, he became an important player. On July 25, 2011, his contract was terminated by mutual agreement. In the 2011/12 season he was under contract with Steel Azin (Tehran) in Iran . From 2012 to 2014 he played for the Austrian Bundesliga club Wolfsberger AC and switched back to FC Vaduz for the 2014/15 season. In December 2014, the contract, which ran until 2016, was terminated prematurely by mutual agreement. Polverino then signed a one and a half year contract with the Austrian club SV Ried .
For the 2016/17 season he moves to the Swiss third division club FC Rapperswil-Jona . After only two months at Rapperswil-Jona, he moved to Liechtenstein for FC Balzers in September 2016 .
Polverino has also been a Liechtenstein national player since 2007 . He has scored three goals so far, the first in a 1-1 draw against Finland in qualifying for the World Cup, the second in Liechtenstein's 1-0 win in the friendly against San Marino and the third of them in Liechtenstein's 2-0 win against Lithuania in the European Championship qualification on June 3, 2011.
Polverino received the 4th LFV Award 2012 and became Footballer of the Year.
