Michiharu Sugimoto ( Japanese 杉 本 倫 治 Sugimoto Michiharu ; born June 17, 1981 in Nara Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Sugimoto learned to play soccer on the school team at Miminashi High School . He signed his first contract in 2000 with the Cerezo Osaka . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . In 2001 he reached the final of the Kaiser Cup . At the end of the 2001 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League . In 2002 he was runner-up with the club in the J2 League and rose again to the J1 League. For the club he completed 16 games. In August 2003 he moved to the second division Ventforet Kofu . In 2004 he moved to league rivals Yokohama FC . At the end of 2005 he ended his career as a soccer player.
