Career
In the club
Bryana Newbern was born in California as the daughter of a German and an American. After her family moved to Germany, she started playing handball in the Mini-Mix from the Bremen club HSG Vegesack / Hammersbeck. After the goalkeeper then played for HSG Schwanewede / Neuenkirchen, she switched to TV Oyten in 2009 . At TV Oyten, she started out in the youth division and later was part of the women's team. With the women's team, Newbern won the championship of the northern season of the 3rd division in 2013 , but the club waived the associated promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga .
Since Newbern wanted to concentrate on her education, she switched to the upper division TuS Komet Arsten in 2014 . A season later she ran for ATSV habenhausen . After Newbern finished her education in 2016, she moved to the United States. Here she joined the handball team at Auburn University . In the 2017/18 season Newbern played for the French fourth division Aulnay Handball, with whom she won the championship. She then returned to the third division TV Oyten. Since her studies could no longer be reconciled with the time invested in the 3rd division, she switched to Werder Bremen in 2019 , where she competes for the 2nd team in the major league.
