Mickaël Pagis (born August 17, 1973 in Angers ) is a former French football player . Most recently the striker was under contract with Ligue 1 representative Stade Rennes .

Career

Pagis started his career at Stade Lavallois in 1993 . There he played for two seasons before he was loaned to SO Châtellerault for a year in the summer of 1995 . After his return he stayed again for two years until 1998. For the 1998/99 season he moved to GFCO Ajaccio . However, he stayed there for only a year and then signed with Olympique Nîmes in Ligue 2 . During the 1999/2000 season he was the top scorer in the second division . In the winter of the following season he left the club again and joined FC Sochaux , where he scored a total of eleven goals in 59 games and was able to celebrate promotion to Ligue 1 . He stayed with the club until the summer of 2004 and then moved to Racing Strasbourg for a year and a half . There he was able to draw attention to himself with 19 goals in 45 games, rather the center forward signed a contract with the traditional French club Olympique Marseille in January 2006 . The Marseilles transferred a total of one million euros to Strasbourg for Pagis. In May 2007 he was in the final of the French Football Cup against his ex-club FC Sochaux, which, after a 2-2 after extra time, was lost 4-5 on penalties.
