Species in the genus Micronycteris are found in a wide variety of habitats, from semi-arid habitats to tropical rainforests . Like most bats, they are nocturnal and feed on insects. During the day the animals hang in hollow trees, abandoned buildings, mines and caves. Species of this genus usually hang alone or in small groups of no more than 20 individuals.
