Midhurst is an industrial city in the English county of West Sussex . The population is 4914 (status: Census 2011), the area 333 hectares. Midhurst is part of the Chichester District and is located on the River Rother , about 20 kilometers north of the city of Chichester .
There are two very interesting ruins in Midhurst, Tudor Cowdray House and Victorian Cowdray House. Other interesting buildings are "Midhurst Castle" and "Midhurst Church". Midhurst Grammar School is the town's middle school and was founded in 1672, the most famous student being HG Wells .
Town twinning
Midhurst has been a twin town of the German municipality of Baiersbronn in Baden-Württemberg since 1964 and of the French municipality of Nogent-le-Rotrou in the Eure-et-Loir department since 1980 .
