The Midship Glacier ( German Mittschiffs -Gletscher ) is a wide glacier in the East Antarctic Viktorialand . It flows in the Convoy Range from the slopes of Mount Morrison and fills most of the Alatna Valley .
The New Zealand Northern Group of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) mapped it in 1957 as part of the Benson Glacier . Later investigations showed that the ice masses of the glacier did not merge into the Benson glacier despite a connection at the Jetsam moraine . The Midship Glacier is one of the Convoy Range geographic features that the New Zealand Geographic Board gave a nautical name to in 1994.
