Miguel Ángel Casanova Díaz (born October 24, 1980 in Tuxtla Gutiérrez , Chiapas ) is a former Mexican football player on the position of a striker .

career

Casanova began his professional career at his hometown club Jaguares de Chiapas , for which he first came on January 11, 2003 in an away game at the UANL Tigres (0: 3) in the Mexican Primera División . His only goal in the top Mexican division, he scored on November 13, 2004 in a home game against Deportivo Toluca , which was lost 3-1.

Ultimately, however, he could not prevail with the Jaguares and moved to the second Mexican league in 2005 , where he played first and for the longest for the Petroleros de Salamanca . After a total of six years in the Mexican second division , Casanova moved to the Guatemalan first division team Halcones FC in the summer of 2011 , where he let his active career end.

Before the 2013/14 season, Casanova took over the position of head coach at the Mexican fourth division club Mezcalapa FC.
