Miguel Jiménez Ponce (born March 14, 1990 in Xalisco , Nayarit ) is a Mexican football player on the position of goalkeeper .

career

Jiménez began his career at the age of ten at his hometown club in Xalisco and later came to the junior division of Club Deportivo Guadalajara , where he was also under contract throughout his professional career to date . Only in the second half of 2015 did he play on loan for Coras de Tepic , for which he completed a total of six appearances in the second division in Apertura 2015 .

For his actual club Chivas, however, Jiménez has not yet completed a single appearance in the top Mexican league . For this he was used in the matches of the Cup competition of the Clausura 2017, at the end of which the team from Guadalajara was able to record the tournament victory. In the cup final, which was played on April 20, 2017 at the Estadio Chivas at home , Jiménez was the hero of his team in the subsequent penalty shoot-out after a goalless encounter against Monarcas Morelia , which was won 3-1 thanks to three shots he saved.
