Miguel Núñez de Sanabria

Miguel Núñez de Sanabria (born July 30, 1645 in Lima , Peru ; † June 28, 1729 ibid) was a Spanish lawyer and officiated temporarily as Viceroy of Peru in 1710 .

Life

His father, Miguel Núñez de Cabañas, worked in the Spanish colonial administration in what is now Peru. Miguel attended the Universidad San Marcos , where he learned Latin and law, the latter also taught later. He married Gregiroa de Rojas and rose quickly in the judicial administration of the colony. In 1687 he was appointed criminal judge ( Alcalde del Crímen ) and in 1695 he was called to the Oidor at the Real Audiencia of Lima .

As senior Oidor , he took over the office of viceroy according to the rules of the Spanish colonial empire when viceroy Manuel de Oms y de Santa Pau died on April 22, 1710 . After a term of only a little more than four months, he handed over the official business on August 30, 1710 to his successor, the Archbishop of Quito , Diego Ladrón de Guevara .

Miguel Núñez de Sanabria took on a number of honorary posts after his reign and died in june 1729.
