Miguel de los Santos de Bañuelos y Travel (* 1830 - 25 February 1906 in Biarritz ) was a Spanish diplomat .

Life

Miguel de los Santos de Bañuelos y Travel was a son of Mrs. Travel y Gloria and José de Bañuelos y González. In 1857 he was the Spanish chargé d'affaires at the Holy See . In 1864 he sat in the Cortes and acted as their secretary.

On June 11, 1867, Isabella II established the Condado de Bañuelos for him. In 1879 he was envoy in Lisbon and concluded a reciprocal extradition agreement.

His daughter was Antonia de Bañuelos y Thorndike, II condesa de Bañuelos. From March 5, 1864, Miguel de los Santos de Bañuelos was spokesman for the Economic Council of the Obra Pía de los Santos Lugares de Jerusalén .

Also in the first Spanish republic from 1876 he sat in the Cortes for the province of Tarragona . From July 14, 1892 to 1893 he was ambassador of Alfonso XIII. with Wilhelm II.
