Mihai Ivăncescu (born March 22, 1942 in Adâncata , Ialomița district , † January 2, 2004 in Braşov , Braşov district ) was a Romanian football player . He played 209 games in the highest Romanian soccer league, Divizia A , and took part in the 1970 World Cup.

Career

Mihai Ivăncescu began his career with Steagul roşu Braşov in Divizia A and played there on September 24, 1961 his first game. But as he rarely was used in Steagul, he transferred to local rivals unterklassigen in the fall of 1962, Tractorul Brasov , in the Divizia B played. When he returned to Steagul in 1964, he won the desired regular position over the course of the season. Ivăncescu stayed with Steagul until 1973 - even during a one-year interlude in Divizia B - before he moved back to Tractorul and ended his career there in 1975.

National team

Ivăncescu played only three games for the Romanian national soccer team and was also not used for two years when national coach Angelo Niculescu nominated him for the soccer World Cup in Mexico in 1970 . There he did not play a single game.
