The Mihlaer Berg is a mountain in the Wartburg district in Thuringia and is located in the Eichsfeld-Hainich-Werratal Nature Park . The Mihlaer Berg is located about five kilometers west of the Hainich . On the mountain, the villages of Ütteroda , Bischofroda , Mihla and Neukirchen have differently sized corridors. The flat summit is at 366.9  m above sea level. NN .

On the southwest side of the mountain is the headwaters of the Madel brook , in the north-west lies the Habichtstal with the Steingraben brook . The springs on the east side of the Mihlberg belong to the catchment area of the Lauterbach .

The following partly wooded side knolls and spur-like slopes (position and height) also belong to the ridge:

  • Reitberg ( 366.8  m above sea level ), Neukirchen and Ütteroda district
  • Lerchenberg ( 327  m above sea level ), Neukirchen and Ütteroda district.

The agriculturally used mountain is the location of the Neukirchen wind energy park and, since the 1970s, the location of the large agricultural enterprise Reitberg. During the GDR era, the district garbage dump for the northern places in the Eisenach district was located on the northwestern slope in the lower Habichtstal valley. The state road L 1016 runs over the mountain - from Eisenach to Mihla.

The Lerchenberg side summit was the inspiration for the name chosen for the former municipality of Lerchenberg near Eisenach, which was formed from 1991 to 1994 .
