Mikael Burakovsky (born June 23, 1977 in Malmö ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who played for the Krefeld Penguins in the German Ice Hockey League from 1994 to 2010 . His older brother Robert and his son André are also professional ice hockey players.
Career
Mikael Burakovsky began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Malmö IF , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Elitserien , the top Swedish division, in the 1994/95 season . In the following years he was a regular at his home club, where he ran parallel in the 1996/97 season in eleven games for Malmö's league rivals VIK Västerås HK . After the winger had started the 1997/98 season in Malmö in the Elitserien, he finished it with the Krefeld Penguins in the German Ice Hockey League . He prepared a goal in 15 DEL games. The following season he spent with the Swedish second division team Timrå IK . In the 1999/2000 season he played again in Germany, where he scored 64 scorer points, including 32 goals, in 55 games for EV Duisburg in the third-class Oberliga Nord .
From 2000 to 2002 Burakovsky was with HC Amiens Somme in the French Ligue Magnus under contract. He then ran for three years for the Rødovre Mighty Bulls in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen , where he also completed four games for the Herning Blue Fox during the 2003/04 season . The 2005/06 season he also began in Denmark - at AaB Ishockey - but left the club after only four games and spent the remainder of the season in his hometown at IK Pantern in the third division 1. In the following season he joined AaB Ishockey again and won the Danish ice hockey cup with the team from Aalborg. For the 2007/08 season he moved again to IK Pantern from Division 1. He last played from 2008 to 2010 for the amateur club Trelleborg Vikings, before ending his career in 2010 at the age of 33.
International
For Sweden , Burakovsky took part exclusively in the Junior World Championships in 1997 , where he and his team were xx. Took place. During the tournament he gave one assist in six games.
