Mike Lerner

Mike Lerner is a British producer of documentaries , who was involved in the late 1980s at more than 30 film and television productions since the beginning of his career.

Life

At the Oscar ceremony in 2012 he was for the production of Hell and Back Again with Danfung Dennis for the Oscar in the category Best Documentary nomination. With this film he was also nominated for a News & Documentary Emmy Award in 2013. His documentary Al midan (English title The Square ) also earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2014 . Lerner began his acting career in 1987 in the television film The Honorable Family Law . In 1988 he got into film production and has been producing documentaries since then, mainly for British and American television stations. He currently works for the film production company Roast Beef Productions in London . In addition to film production, Lerner directed Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer .
