Mike Roger
Mike Roger (born March 22, 1930 in Heroldsberg near Nuremberg ; † April 12, 1984 ; actually Hermann Glöckler ) was a German pop and pop singer .
At the age of 10, Mike Roger was already entertaining the guests in his parents' restaurant by playing the piano. In 1953 Mike Roger founded the four-man band "Circle 4 Ranch Boys" and played country and western music mainly in American GI clubs. In the opening act or as a backing band for US country singers until the mid-1950s in southern Germany. From the mid-1950s, the style of music increasingly changed towards rock 'n' roll . In 1956 he played with Paul Würges at the Rock 'n' Roll Festival in Munich.
In 1962 the composer Heinz Schiegl alias John Sivo produced the number Let's Slop with him , with which he reached number 10 on the German charts in July 1963. The song also became a hit with Tony Sheridan . The Slop was an English fashion dance in 4/4 time.
Other successes from Mike Roger were the B-side Dance the Slop With Me and Black Cloud (Black Cloud).
Mike Roger died of complications from a liver disease.
