Chris Maico Schmidt alias Mike S. (born July 21, 1966 in Bietigheim ) is a German techno DJ and producer.

Life

Schmidt first worked as a DJ when he was 15. In 1991, influenced by producers like Tyree Cooper , Frankie Knuckles and Paul Simpson , he turned to techno - house music .

Until the end of 1993 he played in various clubs in the Stuttgart region, such as the Skylab, Oz and Splash discotheques, and on Fridays in 1994 he was resident DJ in the Cave Club discotheque in Salzburg. Schmidt was a co-founder and partner in the Stuttgart branch of the record store and clubwear chain Delirium and co-owner of the record label Suspect Records. Numerous record productions with different partners followed (see discography).

As a DJ he has appeared in clubs such as the Berliner Tresor , the Zurich Oxa as well as the Omen and Dorian Gray in Frankfurt am Main.

At the end of 1996 he moved to Cologne , where he played a key role in the radio station Evosonic, which existed from 1997 to 1999 . He acted as managing director and program director. As a music editor, he designed his own radio shows, including the satirical program Ohne Flax and the MikeLike and Backfisch shows . He moved to Munich with the station in 1998.

Schmidt has been living in Cologne again since the beginning of 2002. He teaches there as a lecturer at the Vibra DJ School .

In 2012 he made his “comeback” as a producer with two releases.

In 2016 he founded Evosonic Records . On May 1, 2017, he announced the start of the Evosonic Live Stream.
