In the same game, Sserumagga scored the 6-0 goal himself in the 78th minute of the game. After he had been in the professional squad from 2008 and had trained with the professional team, he was injured during a training session at the Ugandan club KB Lions . Due to the serious ankle injury that he sustained, he paused for almost a year and had no chance of a professional league assignment at the HIF.
In January 2009 Sserumaggas returned to Uganda, where he signed a one-year contract with the first division club Uganda Revenue Authority SC in September 2009 . In 2010 he signed a contract with Bunamwaya SC , but left the club again in January 2011 to move to Rayon Sports in Rwanda .

He was also part of the Ugandan national team at the CECAFA Cup 2009 , where he contributed the goal to the 2-1 final score in his only game during the competition on November 29, 2009 in the 88th minute of the encounter between Tanzania and Uganda. At the beginning of November he was appointed to the extended tournament squad by Ugandan team boss Bobby Williamson, along with six other team members from his home club Uganda Revenue Authority SC.
