Mike Zeck (born September 6, 1949 in Greenville , Pennsylvania ) is an American comic artist .

Life and work

Zeck began working as a full-time comic book artist in the 1970s. Before that, he trained as an academic draftsman at the Ringling School of Art. He presented his first professional work for the Animated label of the publisher Charlton Comics . This was followed by drawing jobs for Charlton's horror series, before Zeck switched to Marvel Comics in 1977 , for whom he designed the martial arts series Master of Kung Fu .

Zeck's best-known works are the illustrations for the twelve-part maxiseries Secret Wars and the Spider-Man storyline Kraven's Last Hunt from 1987 , written by J. M. DeMatteis . In 1985/86 he also designed a classic miniseries about the antihero Punisher, written by Steve Grant .

Since then, Zeck has mainly worked as a guest artist. He visualized editions of the series Aquaman , Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight , Green Lantern , Deathstroke and Lobo for DC Comics , as well as GI Joe and Captain America for Marvel Comics.
