Mikhail Kaniskin ( Russian Михаил Станиславович Канискин Mikhail Stanislawowitsch Kaniskin ; born July 10, 1978 in Moscow ) is first soloist at the Berlin State Ballet , managing director of the Elisa Carillo Cabrera Foundation AC , artistic director of the Sir Anton Dolin Foundation in Berlin and artistic advisor of the Gremlin Stars of the 21st century “Gala in Germany.

The first steps

At the age of eight Kaniskin began dancing ballet at the Moscow State Academy of Choreography . In 1995 he received a Prix ​​de Lausanne scholarship and went to the Stuttgart Ballet , where he became part of the Corps de Ballet in 1997 . In 2017 Kaniskin and Cabrera danced the second part of the premiere of Millepied's double evening. “Maillot / Millepied” is an hors d'oeuvre for the varied French ballet tradition, which has found a wonderful contemporary expression in the two choreographies “Daphnis et Chloé” and “Altro Canto”. In “Daphnis and Chloé” Cabrera danced as a light-footed, elegant nymph named Chloé, who fell in love with Kaniskin as Daphnis. For the piece, the French artist Daniel Buren had designed a geometric color scheme that transforms the bucolic landscapes, in which the old story about the two foundlings was originally set in a reduced but intense aesthetic .

Personal life

Kaniskin is married to the Berlin State Ballet dancer Elisa Carillo Cabrera. They have a child together. Due to the fact that Elisa Carillo Cabrera is one of the most famous ballerinas in Mexico and Kaniskin is a well-known dancer in Russia , they are traveling all over the world. Together with their foundation, they support the arts and children. Both of them run a ballet business in Berlin. In 2017 Kaniskin became co-founder and artistic director of the Sir Anton Dolin Foundation in Berlin, Germany and Artistic Consultant of the Stars of the 21st Century Gala in Germany.

Elisa Carrillo Cabrera Foundation AC

Due to the fame of Elisa Carillo Cabrera in Mexico, Kaniskin and his wife founded the Elisa Carillo Cabrera Foundation AC in 2011. The Elisa Carilla Cabrera Foundation is a member of the International Dance Council (CID) under UNESCO and supports art in Mexico and around the world. Kaniskin is the Executive Director and, as Artistic Director, organizes the annual international ballet star gala “Elisa and Friends” in Mexico with famous dancers such as Vladimir Malakhov , Iana Salenko, Marian Walter, Dinu Tamazlacaru, Vladimir Shklarov, Semyon Chudin, Evgenia Obraszova, Joseph Gatti , Ashley Bouder, Anna Tzigonkova, Er Seo, Misa Kuranaga or Kristiname Kretova.
