Mikiyasu Tanaka
Mikiyasu Tanaka ( Japanese 田中 幹 保 , Tanaka Mikiyasu ; born March 18, 1955 in Yumesaki , Shikama County (today: Himeji ), Hyōgo Prefecture ) is a former Japanese volleyball player .
Tanaka was a member of the Nippon Steel Club. From 1973 to 1986 he played in the Japanese national team . In 1976 he took part in the Olympic Games in Montreal and reached fourth place with Japan. At the 1977 World Cup , Tanaka won the silver medal with the national team. In 1982 the Japanese finished fourth at the World Cup . At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , in which Japan finished seventh, Tanaka was used in all six games. However, he was tested positive for ephedrine during a doping control and was disqualified.
From 2001 to 2004 Tanaka was the coach of the Japanese national team.
