Miko Mission (born June 22, 1945 in Alessandria , as Pier Michele Bozzetti ) is an Italian musician . He was initially known as Don Miko and Miko and became a pioneer of the Italo disco wave in the mid-1980s .

biography

Bozzetti was initially a member of the 'Loopside' formation, which achieved a minor success with the song Starman . From 1964 he published various singles in Italian , first as Don Miko and later as Miko .

With an androgynous appearance à la David Bowie or Fancy , he appeared as Miko Mission from 1984 onwards. The first single How Old Are You became a hit in European nightclubs . The following The World Is You even climbed into the German single charts . Two for Love was the name of the Italian's third dance hit .

With the rise of the acid house wave, Bozzetti's star faded. A comeback attempt in the 1990s failed. Today he works almost exclusively as a music producer for other performers . His hit singles have been covered frequently .
