Milan Knobloch

Milan Knobloch (born August 10, 1921 in Prague ) is a Czech sculptor and medalist .

life and work

Knobloch studied medal art in Prague with Jan Lauda and Otakar Španiel . His work consists in particular of portraits, which are often created on an occasion. An example of this is the medal for the inauguration of President Václav Havel in February 1993 or the bust of Johannes Brahms when he was admitted to the Walhalla in 2000. He also designed three Czechoslovak commemorative coins that were minted in 1968, 1974 and 1981.
