Milan Mokroš (born July 4, 1957 in Karviná , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech - German ice hockey player and coach who played from 1983 to 1997 for the Düsseldorfer EG , Eintracht Frankfurt and the Kassel Huskies in the ice hockey Bundesliga and DEL .

Career

As a player

At the age of ten he started playing ice hockey at Baník Karviná . In 1973 he played in the Czechoslovak national junior team. At the age of 18 he moved to TJ Vítkovice , where he won the national championship in 1981 . Also in 1981 he fled to Germany. A year later, Mokros received German citizenship. Sporty it was now in the USA . For the farm team of the Minnesota North Stars , the Birmingham South Stars , he played one season and at the end of the season moved back to Germany, to the Düsseldorfer EG .

In the summer of 1986 he moved to Eintracht Frankfurt and stayed on the Main for five years. In 1988 he married his wife Christa and in 1989 their daughter Saskia-Mona was born. He moved to the second division in Kassel for the 1991/92 season and was promoted to the German ice hockey league in the third season . He played for another three years with the Kassel Huskies in the top German division before moving to the second division in Braunlage at the end of the season, where he ended his career at the end of the season.

As a trainer

As an assistant coach under Bill Lochead and Hans Zach , he returned to Kassel and then took over the juniors of the huskies. In the 2004/05 DEL season , Mokroš took over the post of head coach from Mike McParland in December 2004 . But he could not prevent the sporting descent, which is why he was replaced by Bernhard Englbrecht at the end of the season . Since the 2010/11 season he has been head coach of the Kassel Huskies again after they did not receive a DEL license and therefore had to restart in the Hessenliga. Milan Mokroš achieved immediate promotion to the regional league.
