The Río Milanos is a tributary of the Río Abión in Spain .
geography
The Río Milanos rises on the south side of a nameless mountain in the northwest of the province of Soria in the autonomous region of Castile and León . It flows in many loops in a south-westerly direction and flows into the Río Abión at Torreblacos .
Tributaries
Apart from small rivulets, which only carry water after the snow has melted in spring or after heavy rainfall, the Río Milanos has no other tributaries.
Places on the river
Attractions
Hiking trails run along the river. The place Calatañazor impresses with its partly medieval flair; in its vicinity is the Romanesque hermit church Ermita de Soledad . An area ( Sabinar de Calatañazor ) to protect the mostly six to ten meter high trees of the Spanish juniper ( Juniperus thurifera ) is designated northwest of the place .
Others
The headwaters of the Río Milanos was also the end of one of the many sheep migration routes ( cañadas ) in northern Spain. Some sheep and goats were brought here from Andalusia and Extremadura , where they found sufficient food in the summer months. The upper reaches of the Río Milanos is also considered to be a good fishing area.
