Mile 91 ( German mile 91 ) is a city in the center of the West African state of Sierra Leone . It is located in the Yoni Mabanta - Chiefdom of Tonkolili District in the Northern Province , exactly 91 miles east of the state capital Freetown .
According to the 2004 census , the village has almost 15,500 inhabitants. Due to its strategic location on three main roads, Mile 91 is an important trading center in the province. The city is one of the few that is connected to a public water supply network.
