Military Merit Medal (San Marino)

The Military Merit Medal was donated on March 15 and 22, 1860 by the Council of the Republic of San Marino in gold , silver and bronze and can be awarded to all military personnel for long loyal service or for exemplary behavior. The Civil Merit Medal was also donated on the same date .

The octagonal medal bears the inscription ANZIANITA in the middle and is enclosed by a wreath of oak leaves tied at the bottom . The reverse shows, resting on crossed flags, spears, rifles, sabers and drums and surmounted by a crown, the coat of arms of the republic and the words REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO all around in a semicircle .

The award is worn on a sky-blue ribbon with red stripes on the left chest.
