Miloslav Moulis

Miloslav Moulis (born April 21, 1921 in Prague ; † March 25, 2010 ibid) was a Czechoslovak resistance fighter against National Socialism , a prisoner in the Buchenwald concentration camp , member of the General Council of the International Buchenwald-Dora Committee and Command, as well as a journalist and book author .

Life

Moulis was arrested in 1940 for his resistance activities in occupied Prague. In 1943 he was transferred to the Buchenwald concentration camp and got the prisoner number 15,941th It was the work detail scriptorium allocated. Moulis became a member of the Czech resistance group.

When the Nazi rule was eliminated, he returned to his homeland and became the editor of a newspaper. He participated in the remembrance work of the liberated prisoners in the spirit of the Buchenwald oath . He was secretary of the Czechoslovak Buchenwald Committee and was a member of the General Council of the International Buchenwald-Dora Committee and Commands. Moulis wrote several books about his stay in the concentration camp and the Czechoslovak resistance against Nazi Germany .

On April 19, 2000 he told the Czech radio , daily echo department:

On April 19, we, the liberated Buchenwald prisoners, gathered at the main square of Buchenwald and the Buchenwald oath was read, which ends with the words that we will never end the fight against the roots and remnants of fascism. All 20,000 prisoners present have sworn to stay true to this oath for life. "
